The building and the apartment
The building was constructed in the beginning of the 19th century and is made out of freestone. Push the large entry door and you will step in an old paved historical courtyard that needs, yes… renovation ! … but do not be discouraged and continue your way up to the 5th and last floor, either by climbing up the 98 steps or by taking the tiny but modern elevator.
In our apartment we wanted to mix modern with antique elements full of charm, therefore we have kept the fireplace and the creaky hard floor … Due to its many windows, the apartment is filled with daylight. The corner living room gives the impression of being in a lighthouse and it offers a view of the life in the neighbourhood, the fire station, a small square and the rooftops and skyline of Paris.
